An older woman enjoying a quiet moment at home.

It started with a question to our neighbours.

When the Woodfield Community Association asked older residents what would help them stay safe and stay in their homes, one theme kept coming up. Neighbours want to look out for each other. But life gets busy, people forget, and knocking on a door without a reason can feel awkward. A daily check-in gives that care a simple, reliable routine.

Simple by design.

  1. 1

    You pick a time.

Choose when you’d like your call, and which days. Many people choose 9 in the morning, every day.

  2. 2

    Answer and press 1.

A short, friendly automatic call. Press 1 to say you’re okay. It takes about 30 seconds. Have a cell phone? You can reply to a text instead.

  3. 3

If you don’t answer, we follow up.

We try again. If we still can’t reach you, we let the people you’ve chosen know, like a family member or a neighbour, so someone can check on you.

  • No app to download
  • No smartphone needed
  • Works on landlines
  • Nothing to wear

What it costs.

  • First month: free, covered by the Woodfield Community Association. No credit card needed to start.
  • After that: $20 a month plus tax, if you’d like to keep going.
  • Adding a card early is fine. You won’t be charged until your free month ends.
  • No contract. Cancel anytime with a phone call or email.
  • If you don’t add a card, your check-ins simply stop at the end of the month. We’ll email you before then. No surprise charges.

How your free month is added: We add your free month by hand, within 24 hours of signing up. During setup you’ll see a 72-hour free preview and an invitation to add a card. That’s normal. You don’t need a card for this offer. Once your free month is added, the date in your account changes to show it. Not seeing it after a day? Call 519-914-0434 and mention WOODFIELD.

For you

You live on your own. You’re doing fine, and you’d like it to stay that way. Living on your own shouldn’t mean no one would notice. If you miss your check-in and we can’t reach you, we let the people you’ve chosen know, so someone can check on you.

Doing fine? That’s exactly why we’d love your help.

Plenty of people tell us they don’t need a check-in. Most of them are right. We’re asking Woodfield residents to try it for a month and tell us what works, because some of our neighbours really do need it. Your feedback will shape it for them.

The first 25 Woodfield sign-ups are our founding testers. Here’s all we ask:

  • Try it for a month.
  • At the end, answer a short survey, or have a quick phone chat if you’d rather.
  • Tell us honestly what you’d change.

Your feedback goes to MyDailyCheck and the Woodfield Community Association to make this better for the whole neighbourhood.

Want to be a neighbour who checks in?

We’re working on a way for nearby volunteers to knock on a door when someone doesn’t answer. It isn’t live yet. If you’d like to help when it is, add your name and we’ll be in touch. No commitment.

Already close with a neighbour? You can name them as one of your contacts today. This volunteer idea is something separate that we’re still building.
