The short version
- Check-in calls and texts come from 226-406-8446.
- Save it as "MyDailyCheck" so your phone shows our name when we call.
- Saving it can also help our calls ring through spam filters and call blockers.
- Our support line, with a real person, is 519-914-0434. Save that one too.
Why it matters
Lots of people don't answer numbers they don't know. That's sensible. But your daily check-in only works if you pick up. When our number is saved in your phone, you see "MyDailyCheck" instead of a strange number, and you know it's safe to answer.
There is a second reason. Many phones now hide or silence calls from numbers that are not in your contacts. Saving our number can help your phone treat us as someone you know.
Our two numbers
- 226-406-8446: your daily check-in. Automated calls and texts come from this number. If you are in someone else's Care Circle, alerts about them come from this number too.
- 519-914-0434: talk to a person. Our support line for questions and help with setup. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern.
On an iPhone
- Open the Phone app and tap Contacts at the bottom.
- Tap the + in the top corner.
- Type MyDailyCheck as the first name.
- Tap add phone and type 226-406-8446.
- Tap Done.
Using "Silence Unknown Callers"?
If you have this turned on in Settings, calls from numbers that are not in your contacts go straight to voicemail. Saving our number means your check-in call still rings.
On an Android phone
Android phones vary a little, but the steps are close to this:
- Open the Contacts app (or open Phone and tap Contacts).
- Tap + or Create contact.
- Type MyDailyCheck as the name.
- Type 226-406-8446 as the phone number.
- Tap Save.
Seeing "Spam" or "Unknown caller"?
Some Android phones screen or filter calls from unknown numbers. Once our number is in your contacts, your phone is more likely to let our call through.
On a home phone
Many cordless home phones have a phonebook. Look for a button or menu called Phonebook, Contacts or Directory, then choose Add or New entry. Every model is a little different, so the instructions that came with your phone are the best guide.
Does your home phone have a call blocker?
Some home phones screen callers who are not in the phonebook, for example by asking them to press a key before the phone rings. An automated check-in call can get stopped by that. If your phone has a call blocker, add 226-406-8446 to the phonebook or the "allowed" list so our call rings through.
If you have no phonebook, that's fine. Just know that a call from 226-406-8446 is your check-in.
For the people in your Care Circle
If someone ever needs to be told you missed a check-in, that message comes from 226-406-8446 too. It's worth asking your Care Circle to save the number as well, so they never ignore it.
