What your Care Circle sees, and when
On a normal day, your Care Circle hears nothing. Here is exactly what they receive when they join, when a check-in is missed, and what they never see.
Last updated
The short version
- When they join, they get one text asking them to agree.
- On a normal day, when the check-in is answered, they hear nothing at all.
- If a check-in is missed, they get a call and a text, one person at a time, asking them to check on you.
- They never see your dashboard, your call history, or anything you say on a routine call.
When someone joins your Care Circle
They get a text from 226-406-8446 explaining that they have been added as an emergency contact, and asking them to reply YES to agree. If they added an email address, they get an email to confirm that too. Once they agree, people with a confirmed email get a short welcome email explaining how it works. See adding someone to your Care Circle.
On a normal day
Nothing. If the check-in is answered, your Care Circle doesn't get a message. That's on purpose. They only hear from us when something might be wrong, so they know to take it seriously.
The person who manages the account, and anyone they share the dashboard with, can see each day's check-in in the app. The account holder also gets a weekly summary email.
When a check-in is missed
After our retries, we contact your Care Circle one person at a time, in your order. By default, each person gets a call, then a text a few minutes later, before we move on to the next person. The text reads something like this:
“[URGENT] MyDailyCheck: Margaret has missed their scheduled check-in. Hi Pat, please check on them as soon as possible. Reply OK if they are okay, or confirm here: [link]”
People who confirmed an email address get an email at the same time, with a button to confirm you are okay. On the call, they press 1 once they know you are okay.
By default, if nobody has been able to confirm you're okay after everyone has had a turn, we alert the whole Care Circle at once, and text and email the account holder directly.
A help request looks the same
If you press 3 on a call or text HELP, your Care Circle gets the same alert as a missed check-in. That is why every alert is worth acting on. In an emergency, call 911 directly.
When the alert ends
- If someone in your Care Circle confirms you are okay, the alert stops and the account holder is told who confirmed it.
- If you check in late yourself, the alert stops and nobody else is contacted. The people already contacted don't get an all-clear, so give them a quick call.
What they never see
- Your dashboard or check-in history. That is only for the account holder and people they share it with.
- Anything you say on a routine call. Routine calls are not recorded.
- Your location. MyDailyCheck does not track where you are.
- Your address or entry details. Alerts include your name, not your address. Make sure your Care Circle already knows where you live and how to get in. See entry details for your Care Circle.
Common questions
Will my Care Circle get a message every day?
No. They only hear from us if a check-in is missed or you ask for help. On a normal day they get nothing.
Does my Care Circle get my address in the alert?
No. Alerts include your name and that the check-in was missed. Share your address and how to get in with them ahead of time.
Can my Care Circle see my check-in history?
No. Only the account holder, and people they invite to share the dashboard, can see the history in the app.
